The rare Neo-Noir that transcends its predecessors
L.A. Confidential’s labyrinthine plot recalls the machinations of a Chandler novel, but unlike his most famous movie adaptation – The Big Sleep – where nobody was sure of who killed who, L.A. Confidential pulls together all its scattered strings into one of the most satisfying and neat bows ever conceived in Noir history. The film subtly calls to the past then rightfully takes its place within the canon.
