Silly good and over-the-top macho fun

Having not seen any of the Fast and Furiouses (Furiousi?) since the first one, I thought this film was ultimately dumb but loved every second of it. Hobbs and Shaw belongs to that most indefatigable and delirious film genre: the James Bond-type spy spectacular. The film carries on the tradition laid down by the early Bond movies where the stakes and stunts get reach more and more ludicrous levels until finally you, as the audience member, have to smile despite your most noble and boojy film-watching intentions.

The leads all have good chemistry together, with each having their moments to shine in both comedic and action-based scenes. The critic in me calls it a 3-star film, but the guy who giggled at every absurdly macho line or contrived fight scene gives it 3 and 1/2
